Acupuncture

Acupuncture defined

Acupuncture is part of an ancient healing art called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  TCM focuses on the natural energy of the body called (Chi) Qi.  This energy flows through channels or meridians that connected to internal organs.  This energy flows much like a river.  An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up into others.

Acupuncture is one branch of TCM that uses small needles at specific points to restore the natural flow of Qi, alleviate pain, and balance the body to better health.

Choosing Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and has been proven effective time and time again for a variety of conditions.  The needles are much smaller and finer than those used for blood draws and are also disposable.  The needles insertion is usually quick and painless.  Treatments can vary greatly between patients but a change of symptoms is usually felt after just a few treatments.

A typical Acupuncture Treatment

Two Words: Calming and relaxing!  Come enjoy a treatment in a dim lit room with calming music playing all while lying under a heated blanket.  You will be relaxing for 20 minutes while the Qi flows and your body is restored back to natural balance.  After a treatment you may feel relaxed, energized, or nothing at all.  Drink plenty of water to hydrate your body and maximize the treatment.

Acupuncture with Chiropractic

These natural healing arts complement each other perfectly.  Chiropractic focuses on the structure of the body to move the joints properly there by releasing nerve pressure.  Acupuncture allows the soft tissues and muscles to relax thereby releasing tension and allowing the QI to flow properly.
